plot twist
CONCEPTUAL GAME DESIGN
roll the dice, spin the story, and brace for the twist!
The idea and design for this game were developed in Advanced Graphic Design. The prompt was to create a toy or game for children ages 7-9. This project was created with the intention of cultivating the imagination of young minds.

Number of players: 2 or more

Equipment: 1 regular die, 1 game wheel spinner, story starter cards, character cards, setting cards, conflict cards, and plot twist cards.

1. Roll dice to determine the player who will start the game.

2. The player with the highest number begins the game by drawing one of the "Story Starter" cards, then rolls the die three times. The first roll determines the character, the second the setting, and the third the conflict.

3. Using the three prompts, the player creates the introduction of the story.

4. Once that player finishes the introduction, the next player spins the wheel and will land on either a CHARACTER, SETTING, CONFLICT, or PLOT TWIST card.

5. If the arrow of the wheel lands on CHARACTER, that means that the second player draws a random CHARACTER card that the player will be responsible foe weaving into the story. The same goes for the arrow landing on a SETTING card or a CONFLICT card. If the arrow lands on a PLOT TWIST card, the card will address the previous character(s), setting, or conflict and change the story in a completely different way.

6. After the player is able to carry on the first players storyline and add the new character, setting, conflict, or twist, then the third player will start or first player will go again in the case of there only being two players.

7. The goal is to keep the story going until all of the cards have been used. But the main goal is to use your creativity and strengthen your imagination!
